Agree with the pictures, quite a collection, and I see lots of space to work and admire.
Glad you joined and I look forward to hearing more about your projects!

Greetings. Just saying hi and introducing myself. I come from a long time, long ownership Porsche family. Aunt had a 63 356C which is in the care of my Brother, awaiting a restoration. My father purchased a 1973 914 2.0 new in 73 and it was passed down to me about 10 years ago. I've gone through it fairly extensively myself. Suspension, brakes, motor, transmission, repaired the firewall and hell hole, etc. I also own a 911Turbo (996) I purchased used about 13 years ago. There are also Caymans, Cayenne's and Boxsters owned as well. I have countless fun memories of so many trips in the cars over the years. Camping, Skiing, long and short mountain road trips and everything in between.
Me personally, I'm retired and have a lot more time to work on my cars. Porsches and others. I consider myself a fairly competent mechanic, having pulled the motor on the Turbo to pin the coolant lines (after a catastrophic failure), mechanically rehabbed the 914 and done extensive work on all the other cars I own, eg transmissions, differentials and suspensions. Never taken a car to a mechanic except for warranty, recall and insurance work. And everyone is a manual. I have a bunch of other hobbies to keep me busy as well. Guitar building and playing, home repairs, metal work, furniture building, shooting, golf etc.
So nice to find this site. Nice focus and positive vibe.
BTW, the username is something I was called by an disgruntled visitor in a former professional capacity.
Real name is Matt
My Garage:
1968 Jeep CJ-5 rock crawler
1973 Porsche 914 2.0 Saturn Yellow - still original.
2001 Dodge Cummins 2500 pick up - because everyone needs a truck
2003 Porsche 911 Turbo - Nicely modded to get above a 1/2 thousand HP.
Welcome aboard Matt. That's a great intro and background. I retired from the corporate world a good 10 years ago too, and never looked back. Would love to hear more about the metal work!
Thanks for the welcome.
Here are a few pics of some projects I've done the past few years. Got into guitar making after a buddy gave me a tele kit. And I made a Koa one from scratch as well, since I was given two necks.
I picked up this lathe/mill combo (yea, I know this versions is often derided by more "professional" metal working folks, but this is the only size machine I could get up to the second story shop I have) to manufacture and make parts and items as I need them.
And a pic of the 911Turbo as the engine was dropped in order to pin the coolant fittings that this version is notorious for puking out!
And a few pics of the 914 hell hole and back firewall rot repair I did. And it's always been a California Car, so don't believe the story about Cali cars never rusting.
And as others are saying, can't look back after retirement, since I've got too much to do.
