Rest of the garage includes a 997.1 C2, a Vanagon, and a B7 A4 for daily purposes. It's a good mix... though I don't really like the 997 with these black wheels.

Frankly the gray body and black wheels pretty good, but I understand your thoughts as I have had so many black wheels on various cars that I wanted a different look. Right now I have wheels in Platinum, light gold , painted Porsche Agate Metallic and a set of polished aluminum . Now that is for two cars , though the Cayman happens to have 3 of the sets, ha. Welcome and there are plenty of members here close to you in California, including the founder. You should be able to meet quite a few Carpoke members and here's hoping you aren't laid off too much longer.

I live right in the middle of the region that has the best concentration of roads in the country. More than a few of those great roads have been damaged my Hurricane Helene, but crews are working hard to heal and restore this amazing part of the US.

YES!, another 944 person to join the group. Its nice to see so many come out from past histories to be revitalized. We've recently seen a couple father/son projects, and there is a lot of activity and support in the Transaxle groups. In discussing Porsches with long time owners, it seems there is always a 944 somewhere in their history.
BTW, one nice thing about black wheels, the brake dust isn't as noticeable, my 951 has 3.8 Turbo Speedline replicas but I don't mind cleaning them.

They were a good deal with decent rubber so I figured why not... the offsets are perfect so we at least figured that part out. I may try to do a platinum/gold coating on them to see if I like that...
Stoked the Bay Area is well represented on here and the 944 resources seem to be abundant. I'm likely going to model/print/CNC some parts as I go so it's cool to see the community into that aspect of things as well.
The layoff has been a nice moment to regroup, it certainly needs to end soon but in the meantime it's not so bad. Thanks for the good vibes!
