My introduction: My name is Bill Wright, my first Porsche was an ‘88 911 Cabriolet (Guards Red / Black) I purchased in 2001. With the exception of about 3 months I’ve had at least 1 Porsche in the garage ever since. (2) 993’s (damn do I regret selling the coupe!), 968, (2) Cayennes, (2) Macans, (2) Cayman’s and am now driving my 2nd 997, a 997.2 Cab.

A PCA member since I got my first Porsche, I like to do as much of my maintenance on my own cars as possible. I was an active poster on RL for many years but have been on (self imposed) exile for a few years.

Looking forward to getting back involved with an online community, fortunately the 997 hasn’t needed much other than routine maintenance so far, thankfully.

Former Tin Can Sailor with Uncle Sam’s Canoe Club (DDG-8 & FFG-1) and an IT guy after that. Now enjoying retirement!

Thanks to all for developing this community.

Thanks Tim. I was with Musik Stadt for about 7 years, a few of those years I was Membership Chair. Still know a few of the folks up there.

Yes, I figured out what I was doing wrong when trying to attach pics from my iPad, basically just not giving it time to upload.

Thanks again.

Fantastic about you and Musik-Stadt Bill - small world indeed! I'm a regular at our monthly meetings. It's a good region and an active club. It's also grown considerably - counting associates we currently have over 1100 members.

Again, glad you found Carpokes - it's a great place for good people!

Name: Bill Higgins
Location: Shawnee, KS (greater Kansas City area)
Cars: 1985.5 944, 1988 944 Turbo (Sons car that lives on my lift, he is in Texas), 1993 968
Occupation: Electrical Engineer
Goal: To retire sooner rather than later.

I do my own auto work. On these cars I've done more timing/balance belt changes than I care to remember. I did one clutch and head gasket, oil cooler, brakes, torque tube rebuild, fuel pump, vacuum hoses, A/C compressor, condenser change, expansion valve, switch repairs, electric window repairs, etc., etc........it never ends with these cars.

I need to drive them more, but office from the home. I need to sell one. Anyway, here I be.

Ahhh, hardcore transaxle person...WELCOME. Mines an 89 944T. I too have my sons car in the garage as he lives in Texas.
Lots of experienced 944 people here, but it sounds like they might be asking you for advice.
Glad you joined.
