What did you do with your 718 this week?
When I received my Cayman GTS 4.0 2 years ago, I did the "collar mod" on the exhaust valve actuator. It was a pain to install, and a bigger pain to adjust. On a lesser forum, a guy proposed removing one of the 3 nuts on the bottom of the actuator, and installing a threaded rod coupling, and into that a hex head bolt to limit the movement of the actuator arm. Instead of the hex head bolt, I used a large head, knurled thumb screw, making adjustment to suit very simple. It is working well and is very easy to remove if needed. All done in stainless steel of course.

What is the goal of doing that? If you disconnect the electrical connector going to the solenoid, the PSE flaps will stay open all the time....Southbama wrote: Wed Oct 25, 2023 6:40 am When I received my Cayman GTS 4.0 2 years ago, I did the "collar mod" on the exhaust valve actuator. No, but I will take photos and post. I just did this last night after waiting for the thumb screws for 5 weeks.J-Dub wrote: Wed Oct 25, 2023 8:31 am Bama,

Open all of the time is not good, too much drone. This allows me to decide how far it will close to get the sound just right. Same concept as the collars, just easier to adjust and remove if need be.Tom wrote: Wed Oct 25, 2023 9:02 amWhat is the goal of doing that? My son and I rearranged the 3 car garage to make it a 4 car garage for the Cayman and the Viper ---- quite a nice reptile display, ha!

Very interesting and well thought-out - clearly written too - even though a good bit of what he has done doesn't apply to a GT4. No matter, lots to chew on and learn from!J-Dub wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 6:40 pm I enjoyed these two articles, hopefully more to come.
