I do wonder why some have the light pods up, when it's not dark. If I could find a good quality, sensibly priced conversion, I'd do away with the pods and motors altogether.

Some see lights on in daylight as an additional safety measure. (They are.)

The pictures are on a twisting, narrow, forest-lined road and it's a light colored car that tends to blend in with the surrounding terrain and, especially, the pavement.

That's what the driving lights are for. Perhaps they are wired differently over there. And how well does a 30+ year old car crash and protect the occupants, compared to a 3 year old one? Do you own a 944 turbo Tim.

More light can't hurt and some prefer that. I've had cars with pop-ups and never considered leaving them up during the day but others may feel differently.

My thoughts reflect that some want their main headlights on for increased visibility to be better seen by oncoming vehicles.

I don't think I've driven my car in dark conditions for years. I occasionally pop the headlamps up and down when driving through town, to give the locals a treat though. :) On the subject of more light, there's a lot of public opinion against how dazzling modern dip beam headlights are now.

Those pics of my Sapphire Metallic 951 were from a drive through the Back of the Dragon. On that particular event we requested all participants run with their headlights on as a safety measure. Rt 16 is a locally well known less traveled road between Marion and Tazewell, Virginia. Two thumbs up for headlight upgrades on all types of old Porsches.

Personally I'd rather drive at my own pace, than be part of an event. That's why I mostly go out for a drive or ride during the first or last couple of hours of daylight.
