It's official Carlos has signed a 2 year deal with Williams . It will be interesting to see if Alex/Carlos and the team can gel and become contenders . I wish them luck .
Well, that's it for Sargeant. He really never developed.
I bet Sargeant ends up in Indycar next year .

I’m wondering about Perez… I bet he didn’t sleep well last night. They should get Liam
I personally think if RB gives Sergio the boot Riccardo gets moved up . That does two things . One it gives the team the ability to evaluate his performance in top tier equipment. Two it allows Liam to backfill at Vcarb . Liam gets more seat time with less pressure on him . If Danny ric poops the bed they let him go and Liam moves up . Backfill Liam with their next youngster . If Danny performs well RB possibly win a couple more constructors championships and he retires a hero .

After a meeting of the minds at RB Christian Horner told the staff that Checo will remain as Max's teammate for this year . Not sure if that extends to next year .

With Max, RB have winning races covered.
So that leaves money. Meaning, Yuki and Ricardo are on the junior team because of sponsorship money.
And the only reason Checo is staying is because he also brings a ton of sponsorship money.
Really that simple.
That being said, with Max getting courted by Mercedes and maybe leaving, that strategy might backfire because they have no one to replace him.

Every F1 team has one major goal and that is to win the constructors championship . To do that you need two consistent drivers . This is especially important when other teams have that . McLaren and Mercedes have two good drivers whereas RB have one . Checo as of late has not delivered and has to pull his head out and get back to solid results . The $$$ he brings to the team means nothing if they don't win the constructors championship . My opinion only .

Yes all true about constructors championship. But maybe as an energy drink company, RB care more about drivers championship. They sell more products with Max as champion. Plus with Max’s salary, they need other sources of income to help offset the cost. Plus maybe Max doesn’t want anyone else, he’s fine with Checo so RB doesn’t rock the boat.
If Checo did not bring in the money that he does, he’d be gone. Keep in mind that the money helps with car development and staff salaries. Which all goes to helping Max win championships. So yes, the money does mean something.

Why would F1 "want" to keep Andretti out? Wouldn't his name recognition alone be good for F1? I don't really follow F1 so must be missing the point?
The 10 teams don’t want to share the money pool. 11 teams would mean less for everyone else.
They figure that they’ve made it this far without the Andretti name so why would they need it now. I’m sure there are other politics around, but money is the big reason. Is it shortsighted, maybe but who thinks about the future lol
