Do you happen to know if Guard's red on new cars is still a single stage paint or are the new cars clear-coated? When I get the 951 or S2 repainted it would be nice to have something more durable.

My 2018 991 was Guards Red and definitely clear coated. I surmise, with no evidence, that diferent paint system account for the fact that Porsche has 7 different paint codes all generally known as Guards Red.... 027, G1, 84A, 80K, M3A, LM3A, and L80K (per Rennbow).

I just had my S resprayed in LM3A with clear, and it looks great. Single stage is still available from Glasurit, but I imagine most body shops will want to do color + clear

Absolutely no idea.

Hi, Everyone! Great to see a new Porsche forum. I’m always looking for new people and places to share my experiences with my Porsche and learn from others. I’m two years into ownership of my boyhood dream car, a 911 (991.2). Now my car is my hobby and I love to tinker with it and make DIY videos. Looking forward to getting to know people here and sharing experiences & knowledge.

In case anyone’s interested in checking out my channel, I’ll post a link here. It’s non-monetized. I do it for fun. It’s very amateur-ish. Some videos can be painful to watch if you’re an experienced mechanic. I’m just a novice DIYer so bare with me.

Greetings Tier1Terrier. Really liked your YouTube videos! I was particularly interested in the magnetic stone guard review. I have an 89 944 Turbo that I repainted in the past year and have not put the OEM type rock guards in place so I'll check into the magnetic type.
Thank You and Welcome

Hey, I currently have a 2007 987 Cayman S purchased in 2012.
I put a request in for a 718 Cayman S in April 2021, received the allocation in November of 2021 and should (may) have it in my possesion in early August of this year.
I’m retired and live in the other London in Ontario, Canada.

Welcome to Carpokes! We're a young forum, but have quite a few 718 folks already! You'll fit right in. The 987 looks great too!
