@ROB III Clark's has been a fantastic resource, also been watching NC944ER on youtube in preparation for a few things I'll need to get sorted on the car, he has some great videos.

Looking forward to meeting more of you, browsed through the 3d printing library last night, really awesome to see. Hope to add some files in there myself someday.

Hi everyone,

I just joined the forum and look forward to engaging with you all. I bought my first Porsche (I actually bought 2) with my wife.

The first is an ‘86 spec944 car that hasn’t been raced in about ten years. I currently freshening that car so I can start the process of getting my racing license.

The second car is an ‘89 944 turbo which hasn’t ran for 10 years and needs a new wiring harness. That project will have to wait on the racecar.

My background is mostly e46 BMW m3 and some early turbo eclipse stuff. Thanks for having me!

WOW! Two 944's at the same time, and one a SPEC class racer. You have come to the right location for helpful information and experiences in the transaxle group. Plenty of members here to help with revitalizing 944's and one of the members can clearly help with wiring harnesses.

Welcome to Carpokes! You'll love the 944's! Lots of former BMW people here (and plenty of current BMW people). Kroon makes the best wiring harness for the 944 -- extremely faithful to the original but without 40-year-old wires. See my detailed installation notes here: viewtopic.php?t=3477

@802Hoop This is a great site and reminds me of the early 2000's forums with the vast amount of information sharing! I, like you, had a background in M3's (E36/E46). Getting into their DME's and finding cheap shims was my/our thing..

I have a brand-new, still in the box, Kroon wiring harness I purchased last year for a 1989 944 Turbo that I potentially could sell. Since we have too many cars, I've been thinking of selling the 944 Turbo, or maybe keeping it and selling the 944 S2? Five cars and two garage spaces doesn't work well, and my modified Golf R is much quicker than either of them, ha, ha. But seriously, I'm gettin' old (ok, I am old) and getting in and out of the 944s with my bum hip is getting harder and harder. Oh to be young again. Maybe in my next life

If you want to really feel old, try getting into the light weight bucket seats in the GT3/4 cars. I went for a short ride in a 911R this week with those seats -- amazing car -- but I felt like the Tin Man trying to sit in a small shoe box before getting oiled.

Aww, cmon Tom, I have the LWBSs in my Cayman GTS and they are easy to get in. I will type a bit more on this thread later after I figure how to get out of my car.
