Hello to everyone. I’m Kevin McAuliffe and I am a retired professional pilot. I retired from FedEx, also flew for PanAm and started my aviation career in the Air Force. I’m new to the Porsche world and recently purchased a 2017 911 Cabriolet. I’m really enjoying driving it and I am always looking forward to learning the ins and outs of this beautiful vehicle. I look forward to hearing and learning from the experts in this field.

Hi Kevin - welcome to Carpokes and Porsches!!

Congrats on the 911 Cab - it's got to be exciting. Congrats on your retirement too - great career. I have a friend who followed a similar path - his mil svc was Navy (FA18s), then to FedEx for a very short period before many years with American Airlines until his retirement a few years back. He's also a Porschephile like the rest of us here.

Please post photos of your Cabriolet - it's a breeze to add pics on Carpokes. Tom's handy picture posting guide for you and other newer members:

Hello to all, my name is Jan Stribrny (John Silver).
I am located in the Czech Republic.
I am the owner of Mercedes-Benz SL (R129) and Mercedes-Benz C124 as a daily. None of these were filling my need for something sportier.
Last year I turned half a century and that was a good excuse to inquire 968. The 354th car made, has nice Midnight Blue pearl paint, a manual coupe.
So far, I was capable of cleaning an interior, adjusting the throttle cable to fully open it, printing and painting headlamps frames. Lot of work is still in front of me, and I hope the forum will help me.

Welcome to Carpokes with your new-to-you Porsche Jan! Glad to have you as part of the community.

Also, thanks for sharing your headlight frame process for your 968.

If you haven't already done so, check out the Carpokes "Technical Downloads" section at the bottom of the Home page. The two sub-forums there are loaded with good things for 3D printing, DIY files, videos, instructions, etc, all contributed by and available for the Carpokes community.

Visit Tom's Carpokes YouTube channel too.

Well aboard Jan! You've come to the right place. I have an R107, a 951, and a few 3D printers. :) If you have models to share, please post them in our 3D printer section at the bottom of the forum. We are working to make Carpokes the go-to repository for porsche-related 3d models!

Bought my 5th Porsche a month ago, my first was 50 years prior.
The only one l’m the first owner of is the 5th. Don’t remember what years the 914’s were, but they were well used by the time I got them.

1) 914/4 Yellow, quite a beater, but l loved it. It died in El Paso, TX in ‘75.
2) 914/4 Orange, traded it on an MR2 (brand new) in ‘85.
3) ‘85 911 Targa ‘Whale Tail’…finally got a 911.
4) ‘17 911 Targa 4S…just a gorgeous beast.
5) ‘25 718 Boxster GTS 4.0…best yet.

Been a Porschephile for quite sometime.
