Carpokes

Hey everyone, I just realized I’ve been on the forum for a little bit without introducing myself yet! My name is Ben and I’m a 22 year old from Salt Lake City Utah. I picked up an 83’ 944 a little over a year ago and I’ve since fallen in love with P-cars. This is my first real project that I’ve had the chance to work on (aside from a Cherokee which only lasted a couple months) and I cant think of a better car to work on! Something’s always breaking on it so I stay plenty busy When I’m not fixing it I love doing automotive photography. Super glad to be a part of this community, you guys are a treasure trove of helpful information, so positive and welcoming too! Hopefully I’ll be knowledgeable enough someday to help other members like you guys have helped me.

Retired, living in Laguna Hills, CA.

Have been a VW, Porsche-Audi fan since 1972.

Worked parts counter two years at Roth VW, Bmw Gresham, OR '72 - '74.

Sold new and used cars at Gateway VW, Porsche-Audi four years '76 -'80, then a year at Roth BMW, both dealerships in Portland, OR.

Have had three bugs, one bus, a Rabbit, a Jetta, an Audi Fox and currently a first generation '02 986 base.

Am more a parts replacer vs a wrench but enjoy maintaining my cars. Two brothers are domestic car guys and my son-in-law has a new MX-5 he is starting to track.

Enjoy F1, especially the series on Netflix, looking forward to viewing the Brad Pitt movie on IMAX soon and my wife and I are planning a trip to Italy either '26 or '27 and hope to catch Monza or Monte Carlo for practice or qualifying days.

Lots of Porsches here and lots of independent shops... have found a really good, affordable, factory-trained mechanic close by and really a great source for all VW, Porsche-Audi products. Very active PCA region / club here, lots of activities, lots of food nights, etc...

Don't know many Boxster folks, especially older ones, seems like mostly newer 911 folks, lots of SUVs and four-door units but hope to find some as I'm out and about at shows, shops, Cars & Coffee, and PCA events.

Hi, my name is Chris, and that is my family in front of our 1985.5 944. I am an airline pilot vocationally, and I live in Southwest, MI and am a member of the Michiana PCA. Long time wanna-be Porsche owner, I grew up riding around in my Grandpa’s 1982 SC. I found out about this site from the timing belt tension tool. Glad to be a member!

Past SE Michigander here (Downriver and A2) in the late 60's to mid-80's, so eons ago . I had (and still have) friends living on your side of the state and traveled that way on occasion. Been back to MI many times over the years. (I love visiting the U.P. as well as the upper parts of the Lower Peninsula!)
