Ha, I picked up the Blu Ray edition of Detour for 1/2 price on an Amazon sale. Haven't watched it yet, but it looks interestingblueline wrote: Fri Apr 07, 2023 1:01 pm Anyway, "Detour" is a nod to the 1945 film by Edgar Ulmer, one of many classics for B&W Film Noir buffs like myself. It also has a significant big car/road trip connection - it's an odd road film of sorts.Plus, the word detour has many other connections and meanings in life!

Cool!! It is definitely an off-beat noir that has become a bona fide cult classic. Looking back to what audiences were watching 80-years ago as I watch It makes me smile.Latitude48 wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2024 11:05 amHa, I picked up the Blu Ray edition of Detour for 1/2 price on an Amazon sale. If you haven't seen "Kiss Me Deadly" it's really good. You can get it here, but DO NOT read the notes on the case as it will kinda spoil the ending. Don't even read what Amazon has to say, ha, ha. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004S ... UTF8&psc=1blueline wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2024 11:30 amCool!! I've seen "Kiss Me Deadly" more than once but it's been awhile, so I'm due for a re-screening. Tks for the nudge!Latitude48 wrote: Wed Dec 04, 2024 9:31 amIf you haven't seen "Kiss Me Deadly" it's really good. I'm a huge Noir fan - love Eddie Muller's 'Noir Alley' weekend presentations on TCM (Turner Classic Movies) - he's the Noir King, the "Czar of Noir"!

No worries on the "detour" - I'll re-post the old personalized plate I have to get the thread kinda back on track.
