Anyway, "Detour" is a nod to the 1945 film by Edgar Ulmer, one of many classics for B&W Film Noir buffs like myself. It also has a significant big car/road trip connection - it's an odd road film of sorts.

Plus, the word detour has many other connections and meanings in life!
Ha, I picked up the Blu Ray edition of Detour for 1/2 price on an Amazon sale. Haven't watched it yet, but it looks interesting

Cool!! It is definitely an off-beat noir that has become a bona fide cult classic. Looking back to what audiences were watching 80-years ago as I watch It makes me smile.

If you haven't seen "Kiss Me Deadly" it's really good. You can get it here, but DO NOT read the notes on the case as it will kinda spoil the ending. Don't even read what Amazon has to say, ha, ha.

Sorry for the slight "detour'

I've seen "Kiss Me Deadly" more than once but it's been awhile, so I'm due for a re-screening. Tks for the nudge!
I'm a huge Noir fan - love Eddie Muller's 'Noir Alley' weekend presentations on TCM (Turner Classic Movies) - he's the Noir King, the "Czar of Noir"!

No worries on the "detour" - I'll re-post the old personalized plate I have to get the thread kinda back on track.
