Couldn’t stand how the PO drilled 7 holes in the nose panel and put plastic grommets in them. Finally had them cut out, resprayed and black metal mesh installed.

That is a HUGE improvement and I think it looks very good. Looks like it could have come from the factory like that. It's a matter of opinion as to whether or not the opening there is counter productive.

I have no doubt that is the case.
