Beautiful 996 - loving the tan interior with the red. The car has great lines too!

Welcome to Carpokes Mike and welcome to Porsche fun!

Thanks. According to the build sticker, the car is Guards Red with Savana Beige Leatherette Seats with Leather Inlays.

The Color Bond LVP Refinisher Kit came recommended by a friend for interior touch-up. The hand brake was one of very few places that looked worn, so I ordered it and tried it out. I am very happy with the results.

WELCOME and its always great to hear of a barn (storage unit) find by an individual determined to bring a deserving vehicle back to life.
Lots of transaxle members and deep knowledge of 944's here in the Transaxle wing of CARPOKES.
Thank you for saving one from further degradation and also thank you for joining CARPOKES.

Hi there. I am Sir Nick. I'm new here, but have been a Porsche owner since 1981. That's when I bought my 914-6. I've been living in the Phoenix, Arizona area since 1974. Prior to that, I lived in the Space Coast area of Florida. I had been an SCCA member of the Central Florida Region and worked in timing and scoring at many of the racing venues there. It was at the Daytona 24 hr. race in February 1971 that I first saw 914's racing. I was so intrigued by them that I vowed to have one someday. After the Apollo missions were complete, the space industry collapsed and that area was like a ghost town. In search of work, I ended up in Phoenix. The place where I started had another employee that had that 914-6. I tried and tried and finally talked him out of it 7 years later and I still have it. I've been distracted by numerous other Porsches in the intervening years, but that 'sixer' was my first Porsche and may very well be my last. Thanks for listening.

Wecome Sir Nick!
I was an active member of the Glen Region SCCA until moving south about 5 years ago. I hope to get back into it soon.

Always good to have another RennRatte on Carpokes and I am a fellow SCCA and NASA asphalt junkie. This is a fun place and you wealth of experience will likely be very helpful to many just getting into the track or autocross experience.
