It was at the Daytona 24 hr. race in February 1971 that I first saw 914's racing. I was so intrigued by them that I vowed to have one someday. After the Apollo missions were complete, the space industry collapsed and that area was like a ghost town. In search of work, I ended up in Phoenix. The place where I started had another employee that had that 914-6. I tried and tried and finally talked him out of it 7 years later and I still have it. I've been distracted by numerous other Porsches in the intervening years, but that 'sixer' was my first Porsche and may very well be my last. Thanks for listening.
