My name's Hugo and I'm happy to find this group.

My first memory of a Porsche is not positive. As a three-year-old, I used to wear a lot of shorts. My dad would plonk me down on the folded down back seats of what must have been a 356. The burlap was extremely scratchy and uncomfortable on my young legs and the head room was cramped even for a kid. I was stunned years later to learn that there were actual leather seats I could have been sitting on if only the backs had been flipped up. I've compared notes and my sister has the same memory seared in her brain. It's OK, I'm almost over it.

I now live in Silicon Valley and, sitting on the nice leatherette seats, commuted in a 2012 Boxster base until COVID hit. I started to go to the track just to get out of the house. As I got faster, I thought a few performance features would be nice. I found a 2019 718 Boxster GTS 2.5 in Midnight Blue with red leather at a Jeep dealer in Long Island with only 1k miles on it. I picked it up and finished the break-in with a circuitous route to Watkins Glen for my first track day. What a difference!

Back in the Bay Area, I've been flagged for noise twice at Laguna Seca. Searching for solutions, I found the Track Nanny and this site. Is the Track Nanny still available?

Anyway, that's my story.

Good story - I love the "burlap" back seat memory along with the humorous tilt to your recollection of long ago. I also noticed the Hooked On Driving sticker on the side of your car at the track. Lots of us here are track fiends, so glad to have you aboard!

Regarding the Track Nanny, I'll page our mentor and Head Carpokian Tom. Paging @Tom

Hi Hugo, great intro! And great timing! I just finished making a Track Nanny for another 2.5 718 GTS here in Silicon Valley -- so yes, I still make them and can do one for your car! Email me at admin@carpokes.com if you'd like to get one or have questions.

Hello. My name is Jerry Heiman. I live in northern Michigan near Traverse City and am a retired oral surgeon. I am the third owner of a 1987 911 Carrera Targa which I have owned for about 8 years. The cruise control has stopped working because of what I was told was a leak in the vacuum of the servo. I have tried without success to find a new cruise control servo for this year. Pelican parts has older and newer, not 1987. Porsche dealer in Grand Rapids can't find one. My local service garage can't either. Does anyone know where I might search? Any parts warehouses? On-line junkyards? Thanks. Jerry Heiman

Hi Jerry. Welcome to Carpokes! I've been to your part of MI a number of times - Traverse City, Mackinac Island, throughout the UP, Fife Lake area, etc. I love it up there!

I don't know if you're a PCA member but you might want to try contacting them through their newsletter or website to find other air-cooled experts who might be able to help. I believe your PCA region is Western Michigan which is out of Grand Rapids. https://wmr.pca.org/

A suggestion that might also help would be to create a new post specifically titled in such a way as to address your specific cruise servo needs in the "Classic Air-Cooled Cars" sub-forum: viewforum.php?f=17 where more air-cooled members are likely to visit. Hopefully, that will give your search a wider reach.

There's an answer out there somewhere!

Welcome aboard Jerry! I started a thread for your servo question in the link below, and gave you some leads on where to get one!
