I find it interesting that since Dietrich Mateschitz died, Red Bull has been struggling to find its way. Going from one man's vision to a corporate department can't be good long term.

I wasn't sure where to post this . Michael Andretti to relinquish ownership of Andretti Global . My guess is it may have something to do with being denied F1 entry . Just a guess .

This is big news and I am sure is driven by the state of VW sales . The Audi F1 team majority stake has been sold to Qatari investment firm . I am saddened by this but I understand that F1 is an expensive sand box to play in .

Audi ( and the whole VAG) group are in big trouble these days..miscalculation on EV's. German miscalculation on energy from Russia and a robust Chinese market, likely tariffs from Trump administration and Audi in particular has a fairly tired product range. Wonder if this has dampened the enthusiasm for an expensive team.

It's probably all of that . I am sure Audi want to get on the grid , but like anything else how to pay for it . Budgets were set ( I assume ) on projected sales/profits . When those projections fall far short of the target decisions have to be made . In this case the decision was to sell the majority stake to raise $$$ .
If VW and all sister divisions continue to flounder sales wise it wouldn't surprise me if the balance of the team are sold off in the future . But my guess that would be around 2026 - 2028 time frame . If they can show success early they can attract more sponsor $$$ OR sell the remaining portion for a higher value .

This is indeed unfortunate but as both you and RDMcG have pointed out, not surprising considering all the reasons mentioned. Euro manufacturers are generally not in the best of shape, especially so for the auto side of things and especially so for the Germans.
BMW also announced very poor results a couple of days ago resulting in a number of negative headlines in the financial press.

Hmmm per this article Jack Doohans contract with Alpine is only for the first five races next year . That could bite him real quick if Colapinto does well the next three races .
