Hello from Chicagoland.
Looks like a really nice forum. I've owned an '87 951 for nearly 30 years. Hasen't been on the road for the last 20 years, awaiting teenagers to become non-teenagers (tempting cars not needed in that equation) and also the associated additional time/funds to get it road worthy again. That time as finally come!
I have an automotive engineering and a racing background. Looking forward to the collaboration here.

Hi:
I’m Pat. Got a 914; sat on Jack stands for 39 years in Arizona. I left the 1.7 there, and converted it to Hyper9 with 7 Tesla ModelS battery modules.
It hauls ass.
