"Last weekend, Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen proved he’s one of the greatest drivers of his generation and potentially one of the greatest drivers of all time. During a rain-soaked Brazilian Grand Prix at the Interlagos circuit in São Paulo, Verstappen stormed from a seventeenth-place starting position to a dominating win. Ten of his final 11 laps were good enough to be fastest lap of the race. Let that soak in."

Nestle has become partners with F1 and announced KitKat will be the official candy bar of F1 . Yeah it's a slow news day . But I do enjoy KitKat.

From today's WSJ. (I used a "gifted" link, so hopefully all will be able read it. If not, I've attached a pdf text version.)
"The Rain-Soaked Drive of a Lifetime That Blew Away Formula One"
"By winning the Brazilian Grand Prix from 17th place, Max Verstappen delivered one of the sport’s all-time great performances. Now he can clinch a fourth straight title in Las Vegas."
"When Verstappen finally took the checkered flag, he became one of only six drivers in Formula One history ever to win a Grand Prix from as far back as 17th place—"

From yesterday in case anyone didn't see the news. It's good!
"Cadillac Formula 1 Team Approved for 2026"
"GM, through its Cadillac brand, will use the infrastructure and personnel established by Andretti Global at its Silverstone satellite base, and will become the 11th team beginning in 2026."
Not the best rendition from GM/Cadillac but it'll do until there's a real car to show...

I would have to agree it's not the best rendering ha... But I am so excited to see them enter F1! - I have been a fan of Cadillac every since I heard their Lemans car. Even though they will be using Ferrari engines for the first 2 years.
Start watching at the 10:20 mark... Hear it come to life from electric mode!

The transition from electric to V8 is mesmerizing in the video. Actually, the entire sequence from the 10-min mark for the next 6 or so minutes that I watched is a lot of fun. Jason is so good. (Most here know I love Hagerty Media, so no bias on my part. Lol) Seb Bourdais was a nice addition!
Caddy has enormous experience in the hybrid racing world with their IMSA cars so I think there's a shot that they'll be competitive in F1 sooner than later. And that's taking into consideration that there's not going to be a GM F1 powerplant for the car until 2028. It will be rough for a few seasons I'm sure, but I don't think they're entering into the series to be a 2nd tier team.

There is no doubt GM has engineering power and racing experience . But so does Toyota and look how long they struggled in F1 before leaving . Audi and GM are diving into the deep end of the pool . Both have the ability to be competitive but F1 is a different animal . I want both to be successful , just not sure what successful looks like for let's say the first five years .

the historic issues with most OEM's is attention span and control from corporate HQ. Look at how Ford messed up and gave up on Jaguar F1. With VW bleeding money and closing plants I wonder in Audi will make it to the starting grid.
