Happy to say I was able to powder coat a set of these today and think they turned out nicely. As such, for everyone who paid today, I was able to get these 'packaged' up (in envelopes) and ready go in tomorrow's mail. I sent 7 invoices today and received payment from all of you. So if you received an invoice from me today, your covers will be in the mail first thing in the morning. :)

The powder coated ones have a more uniform finish than the anodized ones. For those who asked for anodized, I picked through the sets I have and tried to send those with the least amount of grain/streaking showing through, but all of them show that to some extent. The upside of the anodized is that they are black on both sides (so not left and right like the powder coated ones) and would be easier to re-finish on your own if you were trying to get a perfect match to the surrounding area. Otherwise, especially after I start picking out the better anodized ones, the powder coated one look better to me.

Members - last week I purchased a set of overlays for the two yellow safety signs on our sun visors through eBay for about $15.

The install process was simple. My car looks completely different inside without the glaring yellow safety signs.

Tom, this product might be something we want to post on carpoke.

By all means, start a thread about them with pictures! Someone else mentioned the eBay versions a while back (and liked them) but we've yet to see pictures.

In the meantime, at of Sat 3pm CA time, I've sent out Spyder hole covers to everyone who has paid. I still have not heard from many who initially signed up, but hopeful it's just taking a while for folks to check in....

And then there is this company, Sunvisor Solutions. I've been using their products for 15-years or more on many different cars including Porsches and Corvettes, among many others. I highly recommend them.

If interested, I suggest sending them $5.95 for a sample chart of the actual swatches so that you can better match texture and color. They'll ship the sample for free.

@Potterjwp

As for your thread suggestion, there is one on Carpokes that Larry C started in mid-January that you might want to check out. There were several different ideas and different companies there that different people had used with good success, including one or more on eBay.

PSA: If you ordered powder coated covers, be sure to look closely and install with the powder-coated side up. I powder coat them in sets (left and right), but only the top and sides get coated. (There's no good way to powder coat both sides without leaving marks somewhere.) On some sets it is very obvious which side is powder coated, since the bottom shows raw aluminum with overspray or very streaky black anodizing. On others, you may need to look closer to see which side is powder coated and which is anodized. If you look at them in good light, it's pretty obvious, but I thought I'd mention it so folks are aware. :)

While waiting for the powder coated covers from Tom, I went ahead and spray painted my raw aluminum covers to match the car. Something different and adds a contrast to the black area…this was a test fit w/o the velcro tape.
