Looks the Robinson Restoration crew does it all. I noticed the TR7 in the background and having owned one I imagine that customer kneels at the side of his bed every night praying that he found you, ha! Beautiful machines and one has to have more than knowledge to work on those beauties , passion is required and I seriously imagine there are many folks out there that appreciate your loving expertise.

Formerly of the Silicon Valley, now resident of Oregon half the year. When it gets cold we winter near Tucson.
Currently have 944S2 which I won on BaT. I did no PPI and paid far too much but now she purrs along
First P-car was a 74 911 (not an "S") which like many mid years engines cost me almost as much to rebuild at 34,000 miles as to purchase the car. Once repaired at RMG in Sunnyvale it ran sweet till it was sold with 220,000 miles
Caught the track day bug when I got my first 993. I did some mods and it dynoed at 312 hp!
Owned a small advertising shop in Portola Valley, CA. Clients like Apple_Amdahl_HP_AT&T_& PacBell

Welcome aboard! Bob G (RMG) was a Porsche-whisperer back in the day. I had an '85 that he maintained. Took me a while to find him, but once I did, I never went anywhere else with that car.

Welcome to the Transaxle side of the family. I hope you continue to enjoy the new experiences with the S2 after your 2007 TT.

Hello from Bucks County PA and LBI NJ. Looking forward to time on the forum and appreciate the ethos. Spent too much time on other sites that were less than civil. Enough said there.
Current P cars are a new to me 981 GTS just set up for the track and a good weather daily 992.2 Carrera. Recently said good-bye to my first P car, a 2018 718 Cayman S. Glad to be here!

Welcome aboard! When we started, I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested acting like normal, civilized people online -- or if it would even be possible. Turns out, it's quite easy. Almost no one acts like that in real life, so there's no good reason you see so much of it online. I'm convinced (from my time behind the curtain elsewhere) that the big-media companies "tolerate" bullies and controversies because they result in clicks -- and clicks generate revenues. Some forums even have dedicated sub-forums just for controversies. Flame wars are good for business, in the short-term anyway. We're not like that. If it's not good for the community, it's not good for Carpokes.
Long live Carpokes!!

Been tinkering with Porsches for few years, and just picked up my first 944. Needs a complete engine rebuild but otherwise a solid car to wrench on.
Name: Mark Finlayson
Location: Kansas City
Current cars: 1982 928, 1973 914, and now a 1985.5 944
Occupation: Electrical Engineer
First Porsche: 1982 928 5-speed;
Mark,
Welcome to Carpokes. It is a great place with awesome people.
I saw your statement: "needs a complete engine rebuild" and thought I would mention that I saw a Facebook Marketplace listing where a person is selling a 1988 924S engine with harness for $550. It is still strapped to the shipping pallet and includes clutch housing, intake and exhaust manifolds. They say they purchased it a year ago but deceided to do something different with their car. It is located in Decatur AL. I figured I would mention it to you since the drive (or shipping) + asking price is significantly less than a full engine rebuild and it could accelerate your enjoyment of your 944.
No affiliation with the poster but the ad is still up.
Best wishes.
