That's going back a long ways with Porsche and forums! Regarding forums, I think you'll find Carpokes the best yet. (Hope so anyway.

)
Welcome to Carpokes Tommy - glad to to have you here!
Thank you for the kind words. Yeah, those early forum days had me jumping into the deep end of Porsche world, with help from working at Borders bookstore and getting deeper into the art of historic race cars.
In 90's I Got to drive to Laguna for Porsche's 50th celebration, many concours events, a couple autocrosses, before I started working at Sears Point taking orders over the phone from an office overlooking turn 11.
I then started bicycle racing which was easier on the pocket, even found many like minded auto folks.
Kept the dream alive and actually got to use the rear seats in my 99 C2 with kiddos. They are nearly tall enough to drive it themselves, but they prefer the vw bug lol
Anywho, it's a busy Monday but I couldnt resist saying hello after reading the mornings Stuttgart Report. Just learned about it from the PCA youtube cannel last week.
I'll be back for more chatting!
Cheers,
-Tommy

Beautiful Cab and a great pic! I like the hard-face mountain too!
Welcome to Carpokes Steve!

Hi All. My name is CJ and I live in Corpus Christi, TX. I currently own a 1999 Boxster and a 2008 997. Love them both in their own ways, but thinking about giving up the Boxster and getting a newer Macan.
I saw my first Porsche when I was probably 9 or 10 and excitedly asked my MOPAR-loving, Plymouth Barracuda-owning, Nascar-fanboy father what it was. We've really never been close from that point on.
My first Porsche was a 1973 911E -- last of the long hoods -- back when I was a young Air Force guy in 1990. I unfortunately sold it when starting a family, but regret that every time I think about it.
Occupation: computer programmer and CAD drafter.

Your two Porsches look brand new - I mean, that's some serious shine! Btw, your second paragraph is priceless - I needed a smile.
It will be a sad day if you have to let the Boxster go, so maybe you can secret it away somewhere for special events only...
Welcome to Carpokes CJ!

Ah, the story of a lost love we all seem to have , but it looks like you have two lovely reasons to adore your new found beauties. I bet you smile every time you go in the garage and I will admit having owned a bunch of convertibles ( including my first car which I wish I still had ) there are days I wish I had another, but being a serious track rat I find coupes a bit more advantageous.
Thanks for the great pics and welcome to Carpokes!

@CJ Johnson
I'd hazard a bet most car guys sold their first love (car) for more sober purchases and came to regret the decision down the road. I did the same to buy my first house in SoCal. thinking I can pick one up later, hurts every time I see one for sale (XKE) but now they are beyond my budget and they are challenging to live with on a daily basis.
I agree with Blueline, those are two VERY SHINEY Porsches! Do you do your own detailing?
Welcome to CARPOKES and thank you for joining!
