Your two Porsches look brand new - I mean, that's some serious shine! Btw, your second paragraph is priceless - I needed a smile. :D

It will be a sad day if you have to let the Boxster go, so maybe you can secret it away somewhere for special events only...

Welcome to Carpokes CJ!
Thanks for the welcome and the compliment of my shine :D and apologies for the late reply.

If my garage is any indication, I have no plans to get rid of anything, much less the Boxster, any time soon. ;)

WillyDaP wrote: Sat Mar 21, 2026 5:24 am Ah, the story of a lost love we all seem to have , but it looks like you have two lovely reasons to adore your new found beauties. I bet you smile every time you go in the garage and I will admit having owned a bunch of convertibles ( including my first car which I wish I still had ) there are days I wish I had another, but being a serious track rat I find coupes a bit more advantageous.

Thanks for the great pics and welcome to Carpokes!
Thanks for the nice welcome and sorry for the late reply. I have serious-track-rat friends, but lack time and funds to do much more than autocross at the moment. Someday though...

I'd hazard a bet most car guys sold their first love (car) for more sober purchases and came to regret the decision down the road. I did the same to buy my first house in SoCal. thinking I can pick one up later, hurts every time I see one for sale (XKE) but now they are beyond my budget and they are challenging to live with on a daily basis.
I agree with Blueline, those are two VERY SHINEY Porsches! Do you do your own detailing?
Welcome to CARPOKES and thank you for joining!
Hi Rob, thanks for the welcome and sorry for the late reply.

Yes, I do all my own detailing, though not as frequently these days since heart surgery slowed me down a bit. I am no expert, however, so what I lack in polishing skills I make up for with photo editing skills. ;)

CJ, I sure understand time and funds as I started having fun with my cars by autocrossing and I still do, usually getting in way more events than track time. Our cars are a blast to wiggle through the cones! Glad you are aboard.

WOW, nice collection of current drives, particularly the 968 CS!
The Alpina B10 V8 must be interesting on the autobahn, somewhat relaxing I'd imagine.
There is a strong group of transaxle members and I'm sure you will find some interesting posts.
Glad you found CARPOKES and thank you for joining!

Willkommen Axel,

Living in a suburb of Stuttgart a pilgrimage to the Blessed Land of the Porsche has likely occurred numerous times, ha. The Porsche Museum and the Plant near your home has likely been visited by you many times so we are all envious, ha. You have a wonderful group of Stuttgart Speedsters in your possession and I can't think of a better way to spend your retirement years.

You will enjoy this site, it is friendly, helpful and everyone here loves and respects all models of Porsche!
