So, I am looking at this thread and thinking to myself, what happened?
Is the part available yet?
I tried printing the files from the Canadian guy, but fitment was mehhh (most likely because I am NOT very proficient with 3d printing), but the resin printer was a bit small so it would not fit in one piece, and the fialment printer was not very good.
I made a fix for the holes that secure the unit, and if someone here is interested in testing it, message me.

I am in need of one of the faceplates. Please let me know when they become available. This is fantastic ! Thanks Tom and thanks Rennbay. I really like this community.

I am hopeful that
@Rennbay will make an announcement here when it's ready. The prototype he posted here looked good to me, but perfecting things like this takes time I'm sure....

I need to get on that list! My dash is out and pleads for a new clear plate!

Someone sent me a 3D print file for the faceplate, so I printed it (quick and dirty) just to see. Looks remarkably true to the original. I used whatever plastic I had in the machine just to see it, but if printed in a high-temp clear plastic, it looks like this would work. I'm still waiting on Rennbay's version, however, since -- if I understood Travis correctly -- it is set up to install without de-soldering anything.

Tom I’m not sure what all is involved in replacing the faceplate. To use the one you just printed the control unit needs to be taken apart so would that mean pulling switches of the circuit board ??

Right, to get the clear plate out in one piece, you need to de-solder both the snowflake and defrost button. Weirdly, the clear plate has its own part number (NLA) which I always thought was interesting for a part you can't replace without removing components from a circuit board. If I understand correctly, the Rennbay one is designed so you can put it on without de-soldering anything. Hats off to Rennbay for investing the time, effort, and money into making a part the 944 world has needed for a long time.

Yes it is. I had a confusing talk with him about this.
I'm going to have 2 (maybe 3) rebuilt HVAC panels for sale in a month.
