Hey Tom,
I believe that for the rear, we will be given the US-shaped/sized version of a European plate for the duration of our European Delivery, because, as you say, we will have the NA-spec rear bumper with the narrower cutaway.
I, for one, would love to be able to take your CarPokes mounts over with me and be your first Euro-driven version!
When allocations are secured, I will get it arranged with you to get a set for sure!
Cheers,
Luke

lukesward wrote: Sat Nov 12, 2022 6:08 pm A good feeling this week, as a GTS Chronicles aficionado dipped his own toe into the Porsche pool and purchased a 2018 Cayman S in GT Silver.
We'd scoped it out on our last visit to our dealership and given him the goods on how it looked. Fast-forward a few days and the deal was done and he's the proud new owner. Visiting with him this weekend reminded me just how damn good the Cayman looks in the flesh. It sits beautifully on the road, all hunkered-down stance and ready to spring into action. Wide hips, that flow back from the fender line, along the door - it really is a beautiful machine.
Driving with it in my rear-view mirror, a subtle detail I'd not noticed - the amber-when-lit turn signals NOT integrated into the main headlight cluster. Nice. I could also hear it rumbling behind me at a stoplight, eager to just romp away at the first sign of the green.
Despite my own frustrations with the waiting and the longing, seeing his car in the flesh, and the grin on his face as he talked about how quickly he came to appreciate the engineering in the car, well, it just gave me all the good feels. Am I jealous? Sure. But not in a bad way. I'm thrilled for him, and feel only heightened anticipation for me when my time comes.
That Boxster is going to be one damn fine point of pride for me. As this Cayman is for him.
Here's to summer 2023 (I hope).

Well.... big update for the GTS Chronicles:
Today we got the news that - after a nearly eighteen month wait - @lukesward and I have..... received our allocations! One Cayman GTS 4.0 allocation for me, and one Boxster GTS 4.0 allocation for Luke. After the initial failed start from November of 2020 to Febuary of 2021 (where we aborted the two allocations we received due to the inability to travel to Europe for ED because of Covid), to the re-ordering with GTS models at the end of June of 2021... to the at-times insufferable waiting.... we are now here, with two allocations, and a general timeframe for Euro Delivery pickup of late April to end of May.
Obviously the content on gtschronicles.com and the GTS chronicles instagram feed will need to get updated. Only the first of many problems (but fun ones) that we'll have to work through as we prepare for what we hope will be the best-documented ED pickup ever!

Very exiting! I’ve had my CGTS 4.0 for just over a year and it really is the perfect car - it does everything so well.

I couldn't agree more, Larry, I finally got to drive mine this week after the rain quit(see my post on the subject ) and every time I do I'm reminded of the tremendous capabilities of this magnificent car, and so glad I bought it.

Andrew and Luke,
Congratulations again, your patience paid and perseverance has finally off and the “Next Chapters of the Chronicles” will be interesting as you move toward the freeze date for your two GTS models. I look forward to talking in the New Year to share some contacts and ideas.
My recent drop off of some Panorama issues to Mathias has been completed, however no response yet hopefully after the holidays and year end time off will hear from him.
Included a recent Factory Production photo of our new the Shark Blue Cayman GTS that is in process for your viewing.
Merry Christmas and it will sure will be a Happy and Exciting New Year for the both of you…… looking forward to your adventure and will see you down the road.
Sincerely
Dave

Thanks Dave,
A happy holidays to you and yours (and to everyone else on the forum). Here’s hoping for more allocation movement in 2023 for the waiters out there!
Rest assured, The GTS Chronicles WILL continue…
All the best,
Luke

Hey Luke -- happy holidays to you as well. I've heard there was a stop order on PCCB brakes for all 718's (meaning you can't spec them right now, based on the rumor I've heard). Have you heard that as well and does it affect your build?lukesward wrote: Sat Dec 24, 2022 3:26 pm Thanks Dave,

I’d not heard that recently…definitely that was the case for a while. They are back on the Canadian configurator right now ($8450), not that that necessarily means much.
Doesn’t affect my build tho, as I’ve not gone for them.
