And no worries, you are not stepping on any toe. I just want to be of help if I can.
I am loving the idea thus started thinking of how to get it right. People never understand how much effort goes into the r&d of things that look very simple once finished.
OEM's go through numerous iterations with a team of engineers and multiple submissions from vendors before a new feature is released, and often times, its not fully complete until Start Of Production with slight improvements in production trials before SOP.
I'd agree the simpler something looks, the more time that went into the design and development to yield something clean, elegant, and integrated rather than stuck on..KUDO's to both of you!

Seems to be plenty of interest, so will place an order for a batch of lenses, and will fire up my printer! I will post here when I'm ready to take orders -- probably in a few weeks.

In the meantime, I discovered something I never noticed before. There are (at least) two different styles of the black binnacle for the 944 instrument cluster. While all the binnacles I've seen use the same light tunnel pieces (i.e., the part that loses its reflection and causes the lights to be dim), some of the binnacles have a little trim strip in front where the light comes out. I can only speculate that they were working to reduce hot spots and/or glare on the dial faces, by blocking the light from shining directly on the gauges. If you have this piece, it is probably contributing to your dim lights....

I'm not sure if they added this strip to reduce glare, or if they removed it to improve the lighting -- but would be curious to hear from others to see if your binnacle has this piece and, if so, what year your car is. In all my years of 944ing, I've never seen anyone mention this piece or its effect on the light level. It's not easy to spot in an assembled cluster, because there is also a wider black strip at the base of the cluster that hides the light tunnels altogether, but if you look from above with a flashlight, you should be able to tell if you have this piece....

With the light tunnels removed, noticed how the binnacle without the glare guard (on the left) has slots just big enough for the light tunnels, whereas the other binnacle has wider slots big enough for the glare guard and light tunnel.

Tom: I’m waiting for the next iteration, but would buy a set of these if it’ll support your R&D.
