My name is Adrian, I just bought an '86 951 Turbo with 11k miles looking to refurbish/service some things.
I am from Maryland around the DC area and I currently do powertrain engineering for Volvo :)
This is my first Porsche and I am loving it so far.

Yikes, what a car. Is that the factory color? What is it? 11k miles is crazy. We have lots of 951 hardcore types on Carpokes who can help with questions on originality or anything else. Can I ask where you found that car for sale? Amazing find, congrats!

It is not the original color, it's actually a Jaguar factory color. The original owner "decided" he wanted a new color so he spent $8,000 to have it repainted. I say decided in quotes because is a weird thing to do to such a low mileage car and it makes me suspicious. However, I've crawled around the car and there does not seem to be any signs of an accident/repair. I bought it from an old man just across the Pennsylvania border. It was sitting in the surplus warehouse for a company he runs; the warehouse was not climate controlled so the car isn't in mint condition (leather seats are stiff, seals are dry, and the aluminum/steel engine parts are tarnishing). I am happy it needs no body work because I can do pretty much everything aside from that. Even happier that it came with the original window sticker ;). I will have a lot of questions while I restore some things, where is the best place to post those on this forum?

Wow! 11K miles! It looks awesome from here. I’m a three time Porsche owner and haven’t been disappointed with any of them. But beware, it’s an incurable disease! Enjoy

Thanks Larry!
I have one photo of the interior handy. The interior is going to be my big focus in terms of restoration. Going to do new door cards. Re-do the aftermarket sound system that the previous owner had installed in an attempt to make it more OEM+ if you will. Hopefully find success in steam cleaning the carpets, otherwise Ill get new ones. And repair the headliner.
