It certainly took a few runs to get back into the groove and build up some confidence for this very quick course. I'm sure I left plenty of time on the table but I was happy to see a lot of improvement in my runs through the day.
Nice run - I saw no rust!

That's a long course and it does look quick. Nicely edited video too - loved the intro and outro pixiliations that made the day and the story complete. :thumbup:

And another season begins! We had surprisingly warm weather yesterday. Only change to the car since last time is that I installed lowering springs. I did it mainly for the stance, but it felt really good, so that’s a bonus.

Have heard of Crow's Landing from some SCCA Conekillers and I can see why so many NorCal members do well at the Nationals in Lincoln, Nebraska as the tarmac has got to be quite similar. Thanks for posting and what a great area to go exercise your Boxster. What tires do you happen to be running on the Pylon Porsche ?

Yes, Crows is a great place! The only downside is that is gets very hot in the summer.

Currently running Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 in 245/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear. Obviously not the most aggressive AX tire. The rear aspect ratio does limit my options somewhat. I could go 275/35 to have more choices, and it should also improve acceleration due to the slightly smaller diameter. These have plenty of life left, so no rush to decide on the next tire…

The Sport 02 is a great tire for the street and occasional track or autocross , but when you decide to change look into some of the sticky 200 TWR rubber. Honestly you will drop a second or two, time wise, with that single move.

For sure! I had Nankang CR-S v1 before these, and the difference is noticeable. Better times are good, but sliding a bit is also fun 😆

I have to work on better mic placement and camera mounting, but here's some onboard from my first time going solo, at Road America no less, with PCA Chicago last year.

We've had a nice week or so, which means giving the car a shakedown and getting it ready for the season. Excited!

@pizatski

Not sure how your camera/mic setup is configured but if you have a way to connect an external mic to the device you can solve your sound issues. I found a remote mike from Racelogic and ordered a set of inexpensive lapel mic windscreens from Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EJ0N5FS

I turned off the device's internal microphone (AiM SmartyCam) - a critical step, figured out how to cover the little mic with the windscreen foam cover, and then placed the mic inside the right rear storage area just behind the pass seat of the GT4. I also put a full piece of foam over the mic inside of the storage area to keep the wire and mic from bouncing around and to further isolate any wind noise. That storage nook has a helpful sliding cover that I also closed. At the end of this post is a short video I posted earlier in the thread. There is still a bit of buffeting noise as well as some tire noise, but overall the sound is pretty good.

If your setup allows for a remote mic, I'm sure you can then find a suitable spot in your 944 to get it out of all wind and swirling air as well as other unwanted sound distractions. The mic needs to be isolated and near the sound of the motor if possible.
