Is your building still standing??? Any walls blown down or shattered windows?

Glad the barn building damage from the Sound Assault has been limited. So Oreos placate the Donkey Mafioso?
Yes to your "YF" observation. Difficult to realize that they're all gone with the exception of Mel Brooks who is 97 and Gene Hackman who is also in his 90's. Terri Garr is still around.

I miss Madeline Kahn. And yes, donkeys love Porsches and Oreos. Like most intelligent beings

I went thru this exercise a couple of years ago with my shop.
A couple of thoughts here.
Lumens are important. Look at the lumen rating when considering the lights you want to use. LEDs will be much more friendly to your electric meter.
Today's LED units are much better than anything fluorescent IMHO. The temperature (color) can enhance the perceived brightness.
I ordered a number of LED units and directly wired them into the shop electrical system. If one goes out, I won't have to replace more than the one unit. Daisy chained wired units can be replaced on a one-on-one basis, but cording between units is just another thing to install. For my application, it didn't make sense.
I ended up installing these units and have had great success with them. Even though they are out og stock now, I'm sure good search skills could locate similar items.

I modified the mounting method and used a combination of screws, washers and rubber bushings to create a direct mounted approach with a little clearance between the fixture and the ceiling.
YMMV.

Update for those that like hifi: Amp box built. I just need to put the lid on and vent the hell out of it. It has to be one of the most expensive Bluetooth speakers ever with helix dsp, jl hd amps and subs, Amazon echo, cascade power supply, stinger battery, and focal elite kx2 components,

It's so bright that ....
I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can, so I can
Watch you weave then breathe your story lines
And I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can, so I can
Keep track of the visions in my eyes
