Need MaxxECU base tune

Curious why your speed sensor voltages are so low? That's below the factory spec. With a .5mm gap, I see multiples of that at 200rpm? The latest generation VR trigger chips (i.e., the MAX992x) have adaptive trigger modes that I played around with at one point. They seem to work very well -- no idea which stand-alones are or are not offering that though... MaxxECU is so new, however, I wouldn't be surprised if it used the latest and has an automatic trigger mode (although you may still need to configure the box to use it...).

I guess the question for 944m3 is: did the car run ok on the original DME, or did you have a no-crank then too? That would help determine if you have a bad sensor signal or if the stand-alone just isn't configured correctly yet. If it ran on the DME, it should run on the stand-alone. As SirLapsalot says, if you have a screen shot of the sensor signals on a scope, that should pretty much tell you one way or another if the signals are the root cause or not. Not a whole lot of grey area when it comes to those signals. Maybe post up the scope shots if you have them.

I couldn’t say for sure! I did forget to mention though that I am using whatever VR sensor Clewett supplies with their kit. So I would assume maybe thats where the bulk of the difference may lie.

Going to need some time to digest that lol but great info.

I’ve added a picture of what I’m seeing. To be crystal clear, I have no idea what I’m doing and I’ve hadn’t had time to troubleshoot. I’ve literally spent half an hour or less with the ECU. So I don’t know if I’m graphing the right thing. I do want to study up so that I know what to ask.

Forgot to add, yes the car ran with stock ECU and A-tune. Drove the car as my daily. Though I always felt I was down on power.

These adapter harnesses need to go in the bin where they belong, standalones need sensors gnds to go back to the ECU, not thought the block like the OE harness. Triggers need unbroken shields which are grounded at the ECU, your fighting yourself from the start.

@Bergerac You’re probably right. But going to give the adapter harness a shot. If anything, I can learn from the experience. Trying to get something to work is when I usually learn the most.

I can't make much sense of those signals. My guess is that the o-scope and/or sensor configuration is not set up to capture the waveform correctly. If the car ran ok before installing the stand-alone, I'd probably focus on configuring the stand-alone. If you switch to a 60-2 trigger as you mentioned, that might make things easier. Or harder :lol:

It looks like theres a bad connection or theres some noise from the second trigger, some of the peaks aren't quite there .

This is a correctly wired stock VR trigger on the 60/2 flywheel, turning it over with no ignition to confirm the triggers.
