Rennlist was simply awesome back then. The founder, John Dunkle, built a forum that oozed camaraderie, civility, and technical know-how. I would argue the new owners have completely lost their way in pursuit of revenues at all costs, going so far as to ban John D himself. Very sad. If Carpokes can re-capture just a portion of what made Rennlist great back in the day, I'll consider it a huge success!Black 930turbo wrote: Thu Mar 23, 2023 5:06 pmThanks, I was on Rennlist many years ago when I had the 930. Best post was the 60 to 130mph it was 96 pages long and 5 years. I have settled down a bit, 991 Carrera S 7 speed manual daily driver but really enjoy driving it and definitely will leave it stock except for the aftermarket exhaust that came with it.

Of course! I vote for.R1Samurai wrote: Fri Jul 22, 2022 6:32 pm The 964 Turbo from the first bad boys movies. I have been a 911 guy from that point forward. Now I want a GT3T as an end game car. Hopefully prices will come down to normal and I will make the dream a reality.

Hi All. This is my first post to CarPokes so I figured I would make it about why I'm here. My 911 and my first Porsche is currently on a ship off the coast of Baja, Mexico. After 1+ years of waiting we are anticipating taking delivery in roughly 10 days! I was able to drive my childhood dream car when I was 15. My father used to rebuild Porsches in his garage as a hobby and as a way to make a little money on the side. He would buy totaled 944s among other makes and models that were recoverable and rebuild them over the winter and then sell them in the spring. He had an amazing shop at our home and I have fond memories of hanging out with him turning wrenches and daydreaming about Porches. I learned to drive in a rebuilt 85' 944 and later drove a 87' 944S to high school a few times... I thought I was hot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯! I lost my father about 18 months ago and decided it was time to relive that dream of owning and driving my dream car. Just a few more weeks!!
