Brush People, here's another product outlined in today's e-Brake news that we all need to maintain Alcantara and Race-Tex. (Sorry Willy, more money ya gotta spend.)

According to today's PCA weekly newsletter missive, both of Porsche's synthetic interior products (Alcantara and Race-Tex) need daily care, especially steering wheels, and that's whether or not you wear gloves.

PCA's article is titled "Alcantara: Love it or hate it, you still have to maintain and clean it".

https://www.pca.org/news/alcantara-love ... -tech-tips

Here are the links you'll need to fulfill the mission:

https://adamspolishes.com/products/adam ... kpit-brush
https://www.griotsgarage.com/interior-detailer/
https://www.sonaxusa.com/upholstery-alc ... eaner.html

Guess it's time for me to also join the Brush Brigade. (Where is that darned Fuller Brush Man when he's needed??)

PS - we're already down to 5° here tonight with the low going to 3°. Going to warm up a bit tomorrow but going back to 2° or so Saturday night. Folks , this is Tennessee for goodness sakes! (I'm enjoying the winter. :D)
A couple of my past cars and one of my current cars (AMG GTR) has pretty much the entire cockpit in Alcantara. I have learned to love it, and have spent countless hours finding the best way to maintain. It's pretty easy.

You just need a brush, Microfiber cloth, vacuum and water. A brush similar to the "AdamsPolishes" link above... I use the GEIST brush, but it's the same thing.

If the UNIMAGINABLE happens and I spill something nasty on my Alcantara, I just use Sonax within my Alcantara routine instead of water/damp microfiber towel.

1)Brush it Lightly
2)Vacuum whatever the Brush lifts up
3)Damp a microfiber towel in water and rub in all directions then turn over and wipe with dry side
4)Vacuum
Mandatory) Vacuum the design lines in

Thanks for the tips!

I like both Alcantara and Race-Tex a lot. I guess it's time for me to pay more attention to their care!

JetFuelOnly (Danial, our good Carpokes friend) also has an excellent video on the care of Alcantara on his YouTube channel.

I must not be as OCD because I am not going to stress over cleaning Alcantara since I have an 11 year old car that has some and it still looks new. Yet, after having Alcantara racing steering wheels and seeing their wear I did opt for a leather steering wheel on my Cayman. So I may save some bucks, and now I have time to get back to checking over my various vent brush options ..........................

New Leather project :D

For my dirty gym bag. 5 Days a week I go to the gym and throw my gym bag on my passenger seat. Since its perforated, I rather not get gunk from my gym bag on the seat, so I made up a little pad that fits right over the bottom section. Real leather, white stitching, Porsche crest and the back side is a soft felt like you get on laptop cases. When I don't need it, it slips right behind the seat. I like making little leather projects for my cars, it's fun. Some turn out, some don't.. :D
