Sorry to ask a very dumb question, but what is this kit actually for and should I be picking up one for my 1984 944? I followed this thread hoping to get the Arnnworx timing belt tensioner and now I'm confused. Thanks!

Sorry for any confusion. Arnnworx made a number of popular things. He may be best known for the timing belt tensioner, but he made lots of tools -- and this throttle body kit. He developed the kits years ago after realizing that the shaft seals on most throttle bodies deteriorate over the years. On a 40 year old TB like yours, the seals are most likely gone. When that happens, a small amount of unmetered and unfiltered air leaks into the motor under vacuum, which will throw off the engine management a tiny bit and makes the car run leaner than intended. On an N/A that is otherwise running well, and passes smog tests without problems, these leaks are often too small to cause any noticeable issues. On turbo cars with high boost levels, air actually gets blown out the bad seals and makes the car richer on boost, and makes the turbo a tad bit less efficient. High boost turbo cars are probably the ones that benefit most from resealing the TB, but on all cars it's just one little thing that contributes to the motor no longer running like it did when new.

Also, while not as sophisticated as the Arnnworx timing belt tool, check out our 3D printed timing belt tension tool as another alternative, available as a free DIY or pre-assembled for sale.

Itneedseverything.
It was shipped on July 22 via USPS Ground delivery. A tracking number was sent on July 21 when the label was created, but if you can't find it let me know. I just checked it and the tracking number says it's at a Post Office near you now, so I'd guess you'll get it today or tomorrow.
