I think they all do to one degree or another (and not just drivers). It goes with the F1 territory I guess...

But Verstappen does have a point, even if the 99%/1% comment is hyperbole.

He does. But like the NFL and NBA, are they still really a sport? Is F1 heading down the same path?

Good questions. Plenty of cynicism (and criticism) out there, some, maybe much of it warranted.

Sanitized.

Stormy, did you catch Martin Brundle's comment under his breath a bit while walking through the starting line paddock mentioning Verstappen sure likes to moan and groan. I had to laugh as regardless of his talent he does seem to constantly be overworking the " Whine Meter." One wonders if this will subside as he gets older , since for many it does somewhat tarnish his talent at present for quite a few folks. Oh, well , we have seen over the years that racers in almost all levels of racing series have different ways to handle the extreme stress --- kind of makes you appreciate those who can do it with style and grace.

almost all of the drivers whine. lewis hamilton is older than most and still perpetually whining. the guys winning are always going to get more airtime and you are just going to hear more of it from them.

imo brundle is british biased and more likely to call out verstappen groaning than hamilton.

From today's "Never Stop Driving" column by Hagerty's Larry Webster:

"I also binge watched the excellent Hulu documentary on Jenson Button’s 2009 Formula 1 championship season and the high-stakes background drama that played over the entire season. That was the year that teams, led by Ferrari, nearly left Formula 1 to create their own series. You’ll wonder how any of the main characters—from team owners Nick Fry and Ross Brawn to the drivers—held the team and themselves together that year."

Might be a good one to watch!

"BREAKING: Team Principal Guenther Steiner Out at Haas F1 Team"

"After eight years without even a single podium finish, Haas promotes Ayao Komatsu to team principal, effective immediately."

I'm willing to bet a couple of beers that this won't make any difference. Not really sure what the goal or business plan for HASS F1 is/was.

I actually would like Haas to sell to Andretti. This way, Andretti can start investing more into the team to be actually competitive.
