Love the idea. Yours look great. Please let me know if I can help. As was said earlier in this string...sure would be nice if Rennline stepped up to bat to manufacture them in aluminum and paint them to match. They darned sure have the machining capability.

I've had a 'long' couple of weeks with family medical issues, but will get on it this week. Black anodized aluminum should be a snap since it's flat....

No rush at all Tom, and I hope things settle down for you. I used mine tonight and it reminded me that you should have the metals one made slightly smaller overall since I had to sand them in order to fit, which will not be possible with metal ones. Say 1/16" smaller overall, if that makes sense.

Oh wow, I did not realize that! Maybe I'll trim one down and send it to you in plastic to make sure it's right before spinning up a machine shop to make a big batch....

That would work Tom, and if you want to make a few different sizes I can let you know which is the best fitting - you can label each one on the back with 1, 2, 3, etc. to help me tell you which one is best. And again, no rush!

I may snoop around the local dealers too and see if there is a car nearby I can check it on.... Absent that, I'll send you some as you suggest. You think 1/16" trimmed off all around is needed? That would make it 1/8" shorter and narrower overall, which sounds like a lot??

I agree, that is too much but I had a hard time explaining it! I meant to shrink the entire piece by 1/16" so that would be 1/32nd on each of the 3 sides I guess!

Side note: the plastic pieces Tom sent me originally a few months ago fit perfectly (I had posted a photo). No modification to the size needed. Tom sent me several sets and they all fit perfectly.

I had sent Rennline a follow-up email on 8-28-22. No reply from Sam Catalano who had been corresponding with me, and sent me sample pieces he 3-D printed, which DID NOT fit properly. I had sent him a sample of the ones I had. I told him those fit perfectly.

You sent Rennline the ones I made for you, for the purpose of having Rennline replicate them?
