Cool! And if you can throw a couple of the little pieces for black paint as well I would appreciate it (just the side with the bevels).

Whoa, Tom. You’re an animal! Fantastic work on the bezel! Kudos :o

For the clip-on version of the 718 bezel, I'm thinking of taking advantage of the little lip where the factory bezel meets the gauge. Something like below. The little ridge inside the clip-on bezel would only need to be maybe 1/10th of a mm deep, and probably just a few short sections in two or three places. Thoughts?

That could work Tom, and you know I will help you test whatever you come up with!

The lip is where the inside chrome meets the black, about 1/3 to 1/4 of the way to the glass. There is no lip where the inside of the bezel meets the glass. I think if the cover fits snugly over Bob Z’s bezel it should fit all 718 variants. I’ll be happy to test the prototype.
Thanks for this painstakingly, tedious work.

Getting closer on the clip-on cover. I think it's going to work out just fine. And I'm sure Bob will be relieved to see proof that his bezel is still ok. :)

Ha! I trust you with it, Tom! For those of you that do not know, the bezel is not a part one can buy on its own so if it broke the entire Sport Chrono assembly would have to be purchased, for about $500 I think. And since many are not as brave as I am in regards to taking it off Tom's snap-on covers will be perfect for those that want to add some color! I expect to get the samples in a week or so and I will let Tom know how they fit; however, based on what I am seeing here it seems all will be well!

I have replicas of the original ready to send you. They 'seem' identical to your original and, if so, they'd save you that $500 if anything should happen to your original. The ones in that video above are for people like me who are too chicken to pull the bezel off the gauge. :)

I know Tom, these will be great for most people! As a reminder to everyone, we started talking about these due to the SC reflection on the windshield at night, which requires a shroud or eyelid on the SC bezel, which is the next project!

Honestly, once we confirm the replica version clips into your gauge, the hood is a super simple addition. (Famous last words I know, but it's about 5-10 minutes worth of CAD time....)
