Strange. I've had three 951's (over the past 30 years) here in Texas where 100+ days are normal and I've never had these fuel pump problems. Just wondering if it could be anything else. On a sadder note, I am once again Porsche-less, with money burning a hole in my pocket.

It's definitely the pump making the noise. Exactly what is taking them out is still kind of a mystery. New parts on order and should be here soon.

Kind of... it was previously mounted in rubber anti-slip walkway material I wrapped around the pump. When I last changed it, I thought maybe that was trapping heat so I changed it to a rubberized plastic clamp cushion I 3D printed, shown below. I ordered a new factory 944 Turbo pump and rubber cover this time....

Just curious since you have been doing so many little electronic projects, have you thought about setting up a voltage and amperage monitor at your fuel pump? Might shed some light on what may be happening?

I did check voltage at the pump with a multimeter and it seemed fine, but while chasing this issue I did install new heavy gauge wires straight from the battery via a relay controlled by the original wires. Never logged voltage and current, but I could if throwing new stock parts at it doesn't fix it...

My pump was screaming last year. I tried some super premium gas and that didn't help, and I changed to a new pump and the new one started screaming too. The issue turned out to be a bad FPR which resulted in elevated pressure that I guess the pump didn't like.

That's what I was wondering about. Heat just doesn't seem right considering all of us here in the desert southwest.

I run a relatively new 3 bar bosch FPR. I'd think my AFR's would be off if the pressure were off by enough to affect the pump, but is a theory I hadn't thought of, and checking it is free, so I'll check it for sure... Thanks!
p.s., suddenly wondering how well those FPR's hold up to e85...

My 044 pump was super loud, then i modifyed the bracket and sound isolation, now i barely hears it.
