Yes, it's in the glove box and I'll review it prior to the sale. A vote of confidence from the dealer certainly is valuable. Of course, the price reflects that, but I'm not so worried about overpaying a bit for a car as I plan to keep for a while.

This car was checked out at the local Porsche dealership ($2600!!) in preparation for the sale, but I will still have my indy mechanic check it out. He's a 944 specialist and knows exactly what to check for, like the aforementioned timing belt, fuel lines, etc. I'd much rather invest what's needed now than be stuck on the side of the road later!
Very wise! Any way that you can get a copy of the dealership's report too? That might help both you and your mechanic, especially if certain critical specs were detailed in the report.

First post!
This is a picture from two days ago. Of my '85 street/trackday/spec project. Painted by the students at a local high school.
Some assembly required. The rest of it is separated in its individual molecules.

I believe the paint supplier is Standox. Colors are Porsche Oslo Blue, Audi Nardo Gray and VW Signal Orange.

UPDATE: I bought the '86 NA 944, as pictured previously in this thread. It runs well and the 90 minute drive home went off without a hitch, so that's good. The seller originally told me everything works and I negotiated $1000 off his asking price, but once I was able to inspect the car I quickly discovered that "everything works" really meant "almost nothing works" and I used that to negotiate a further $2000 off the price.
So far I have the following issues on my list of projects:
- Air conditioning not blowing cold
- Power steering doesn't work
- Power driver seat doesn't work
- Power sunroof doesn't work/missing button
- Passenger power window doesn't work
- Headlights flip up but don't illuminate
- Right brake light doesn't work
- Dash clock doesn't work
- Odometer, speedometer & fuel gauges don't work
- Shifter is very loose/lots of play on center
- Faint smell of gas /fuel leak somewhere
Going to start with the gauges, passenger window and power steering first. (All I hear in my head is cha-ching, cha-ching...) At least the paint looks pretty good...

Yikes, and that was advertised as "everything works"? A little puffery if normal in a car ad, but that sounds just outright dishonest.

A lot of those things are common problems and none of them, individually, need to be super expensive to fix -- as long as you do the work yourself and don't go crazy with new parts, etc. I'd locate the gas leak before driving it though. The fuel lines under the hood get old and crack, then leak onto the hot headers, then start a big fire, then end up as a big car-fire picture on Facebook with a cautionary tale.

I hope you get all the issues sorted out. Carpokes has a lot of members with 944 knowledge. That is one good looking 944.

I'll get her sorted. I have nothing but time, and a bonefide 944 expert nearby for the tricky stuff. To me, a project car is all about the pride in knowing that you brought it back to its former glory!
It's crazy how many horn honks, thumbs up and comments this old "not a real Porsche" car gets from people out and about. Every time I take her out, she never fails to turn heads!
