Exciting for sure! What color is your new 718? Post pics when it arrives. Interior too. We like pictures here!xcursion wrote: Wed Jan 18, 2023 5:53 pm Hi everyone, new member from southern CA. First post and first Porsche as well. I have a '23 GTS 4.0 Cayman currently sitting at Emden port waiting for a ride over. Excited and hopefully not too long of a wait for my new daily.
You are going to love the car - just a dream to drive and drive and drive...
Oh yeah, welcome to Carpokes!

Hello, this is Chris. It is my first day on Carpokes; registering after reading the Open Letter in the January 2023 edition of Panorama.
My current daily driver is a 2015 Cayman. Purchased the car in 2018, the year I retired, as a CPO from a Porsche dealer. Have enjoyed the car immensely. Issues have been primarily service-related with the only unforeseen problem being a headliner replacement. My goal is to keep ahead of maintenance issues while working in upgrades where possible. Looking at a backup camera and new tires in the coming months.
This is my second Porsche. The first was purchased in 1973. It was a 1958 356A 1600S coupe. With that car, I did most of the DIY work myself with the help of my older brother. A lot of late nights in the driveway outside my apartment. But I loved the car; handled like a go cart and still got up to speed on i95. Unfortunately, it got sold in the mid-70s. Had a lot of cars since then, but glad to be driving a Porsche once again! Especially the mid engine version, which I had liked since they first came out.
Looking forward to learning from the forum.
Glad to be on board.

Welcome to Carpokes Chris! Great to have you onboard!
I bet the majority of folks on here wish they never sold their first Porsche. Mine was an '85 3.2 Carrera with under 50k miles, which I sold for $21k if memory serves...
