Nice Chevelle and a sweet '62 (I think) C1 'Vette flanking your Porsche!

Quite possibly one of my fav mods so far (besides the mode selector of course)...

I have a little theme going for my interior (Black leather, chalk stitching, carbon), so I have had a few things made to follow that. Recently, I got a company to make me some custom made puddle lights, to match everything.

For example, here are the floor mats I had made...

The company just sent me the finished product on the puddle lights, made with a High Def quartz lens. I should have them in a week or so, but wanted to share how they turned out. I get to see this every time I open my door :)

I looked into the puddle lights a while back. Since our 718s are not wired for lights the ones I saw would simply replace the reflectors and use a battery and an led light. they indicated the battery would last 6 months of daily use, longer if the vehicle was not used much.

Yup, exactly. It's a USB (no batteries), so you just charge it with a power bank every 6 months or so.

Brake inspection today. Back story: for the last few months my brakes have been making a weird noise from time to time. Sometimes it would happen the first brake application when I come off the track, sometimes the first brake application when I leave the house in the morning. It always sounding like the heat shields behind the front rotors were loose, rattling or something was grinding on them. Took a rotor off and found this:

Thinking about running no heat shields anyway because the front brake cooling duct aims right at the back of the shield. Noticed the GT4 does not have a heat shield, just a little cover to protect the tie rod end. So I safety wired some heat shield fabric around the rubber boots on my lower ball joints and tie rods just as a precaution from the radiant heat from the rotor after a spirited drive.

And well why the rotors are already off the car may as well clean out the holes that are all clogged up with brake dust. 1/8” drill but was a good fit.

Speculation: I have only heard this noise on my GTS and another GTS at the track. It could be something with the particular rotor and heat shield that were used on the GTS, not sure. As previously mentioned, GT4s and Spyders don't have heat shields and those are the common 718s during the track days I have attended.

Well it took me a very long time to decide, but I ordered the clear side marker lights. The orange just started bugging me :)
Also added the Mobil 1 Oil Bag, been on my list.

And if you tire of the clears (hah!) and cannot find your OEM orange ones, just give me a shout - I have a couple of sets of the collectible, difficult to find, incredibly unique and awesome orange ones and will give them to you for FREE! I might even pay the shipping...

edit: I bet most dealers have dozens of the orange ones lying (laying?) about. They probably go into dumpsters periodically.
