Just a Chalk PSA.... I had someone write the other day saying they asked for Chalk bezels (aka Crayon) and I sent them the wrong color. The 'chalk' I use is code-matched by an automotive paint shop to Porsche code M9A/3H, so I was reasonably confident that it's the right color. That said, if there is an issue I wanted to know about it, so I took a chalk bezel down to my dealer today to see how close (or not) my paint was. When I first pulled in, I was indeed worried that my bezel was darker and more grey looking than the chalk cars on the lot. However, Chalk is a funny color that changes appearance in the sun vs shade etc. It looks much lighter in the sun than in the shade. See pictures below, but the bottom line is my code-matched paint it a good match for the actual car paint when viewed under the same light and angle....

Same angle and sunlight -- it's pretty much dead on....

Another shot showing the match....

With the angle/sunlight different, the bezel looks darker....

Or it can look lighter.... even though this is the same bezel and car as the first 2 shots above...

The chalk looked a great match !!!!

I'm going to put an early request in for a full set of Gentian Blue bezels.

Today I was very fortunate to get from my dealer one of their 2023 allocations for a cabriolet.

It will be September build and "November" delivery.

Initial configuration is Gentian Blue with Blue Top and Black interior.
2024 - 911 Carrera Coupe Arctic Grey (Aerokit)
2023 - 911 Cabriolet Shark Blue / Blue Top (Traded)
2022 - 911 Carrera Python Green (Traded)
2008 - BMW 135i Cabriolet Satin Yellow Vinyl Wrap / Black Top

@Tom

I have an incoming Taycan GTS in Chalk with Bordeaux interior and would love to get on the list for a bezel and mode dial cover in matching Bordeaux. Happy to pay shipping and painting cost as you see fit!

Thanks a bunch!

I have a Cross Tourismo Taycan coming in August, so I'd like to order a full set of bezels. I have ordered the car with Neptune blue and black/chalk interior. I'm thinking going with Neptune for the bezels could be interesting but I could be swayed to go with Chalk to match up more directly with the two tone interior. If anyone has any strong opinions let me know :)

I have a black interior with chalk deviated stitching. I first tried a bezel cover in chalk. It looked like an unpainted part. IMO, I would chose the blue. There is a huge list for bezel requests. The best way to ensure that you get first class attention is to contribute to Carpokes by posting often and encouraging your Porsche owner friends to join.

BTW, great choice on your color combination.🤙🏻

Thanks for the advice and support Larry C. I guess I'll get busy supporting this forum then. I've got a long ways to go :)
