Maybe so, but we will need to finalize a design for the eyelid that looks as close to what an OEM one might have looked like if Porsche would have realized how bad the reflection is at night!

Understood. Take comfort that I'm a tad relentless. If the first 17 don't work for you, #18 will knock it out of the park. ;)

@Tom, are you copying the eyelid (aka shroud) from your 992 OEM shroud or would that not work with the 718 bezel cover? I have a SC windshield reflection but mostly from the shiny chrome bezel. A black bezel cover should significantly mute the reflection. I’m not sure I’d want a shrouded cover because it doesn’t look OEM for the 718. Maybe some owners would be happy with a SC cover, like a camera lens cap, when the reflection is excessively disturbing, i.e, at night on a long road trip. The cap could have the model number printed or embossed on its face in a variety of colors?

Considering the number of forum posts on RL🤬 and other forms, where buyers spend countless hours configuring their interiors with particular attention to color selection for gauges, SC face, deviated stitching, seatbelt, etc, the million dollar question is how to reach these folks. 🤔🤔 I may have an idea.🤫

I am planning to get the word out as well when the time comes, just as I did for the license plate mounts, etc., and I will mention them periodically as well so new members can be made aware of everything.

My thought on the hood is like the mock-up I posted in post #24 of this thread, but I'm following bob's lead on the hood thing, since he is driver of that one. The camera lens cover is an interesting idea too. Think people would want that? You guys have been great about getting the word out, thank you, thank you!

I love the idea of both - in fact, I'd probably get one of each including the standard ring. The "lens cap" would be ideal for longer night time drives away from city lights.

Here's the first Bob-Special for @Bob Z. :) Happy to tweak as you see fit. This is based on the C version, with the hood added. Changing the hood size is simple and not time-consuming, so no problem...

Nice! My only concern is that the hood does not wrap around enough - it might have to be 180 degrees of coverage to block all of the reflection but I can give it a shot!

Here is what you bezel looks like painted...love it and the material holds the paint better than the OEM. And also a pic of the little plate you made me, which I mounted the old school PORSCHE emblem on:

The black bezel looks great with the yellow gauge face. Chrome and yellow, IMO, 🤢. I have a 718 GTS that looks like your Spyder’s gauge. I was able to insert a playing card between the gauge and shroud. Maybe you could try that and see how many degrees of coverage it takes for the windshield reflection to dissapear?
