This is exactly what I've been needing, and you already solved my concern about sharpie ink holding up with the paint pen idea. I'll refrain from going too deep into the details of why I need it because the project admittedly isn't a Porsche, but I'll leave it with the fact that I'm having to do about 1 meter of completely DIY wiring harness. I don't have the cash to spare for a bunch of different wiring colors and heat shrink labels only help so much once everything is wrapped up properly.
