Hey Tim! Welcome to Carpokes!

Great 911 (so much fun) and a great setting, somewhere out west - could it be Arizona? But the best is the name - I'm partial to "Tim" as might be expected.

Enjoy Carpokes - lots of good discussions with something for everyone!
California, at the intersection of a couple of good roads.

Welcome to Carpokes! Tim
I am a relatively new member and anxiously awaiting spring so I can get my two cars out: 2004 911 (996) and a 2012 Audi TTs. I bought the 911 in August of 2012 and the TTs in July of 2022. I find the winters quite long considering my cars are only a few feet away in the garage under covers. We use a 2011 Audi Q 5 in the winter months when there is likely to be snow on the roads here in and around Toronto. The garage is not heated so there is no opportunity to work on the cars while they are in storage. I do go out and look at them every now and then though.
Cheers,
Michael

Hi Pam, welcome.

I was in that part of the state last summer and wanted to drive the tail, but the weather did not cooperate. A few months later, I did drive the back of the dragon in VA, which was a thrill to say the least. But at the time, I was driving an '18 911 C4S with Michelin Sport Cup 2 installed and the car stuck like glue to the road. Fast forward to today, and I'm driving a '21 911 C2S with stock Pirelli P Zeros and my confidence level is 5/10 compared to the Michelins, so when these wear out, I'll be switching to Michelins, if not sooner, so I can drive the car as intended.

My name is Pamelyn Witteman, Ph.D. and I live in the Smoky Mountains, NC, near the Tail of the Dragon. I am a first-time Porsche owner of a 2021 718 Cayman. I love my Cayman and LOVE to drive it around the corners here in NC.

I am a Professor and work at home, so I enjoy the curvy roads here whenever I can. I have to get new tires soon, so I wonder if any of you have any advice on tires that are good for curves and will not wear too much. The factory P Zeros are not that great for what I drive on - curves and lots of them :)

I look forward to chatting with all of you!
Cheers!
Pam

Wow! 50+ years on both mentions is unique history - that's impressive. The color looks great on your 914 - the car looks new!

And yes, welcome to Carpokes!!

Welcome, I almost bought a '70 model way back then, nut the sweet lines of the 240Z swayed me. Good looking car!
