Been looking for a Friendly Porsche Forum for awhile now. Glad I found one finally. I have so many questions…
Save the 914 -- much too pretty to be put out to pasture!! Is it Blood Orange/Tangerine?
Thanks! It is pretty but sadly I think the rust has progressed to the structural areas and frame. I am afraid to jack it up to find out for sure. It started life in Colorado back in the 70s when they salted the roads and it never really had a chance.
And it was painted Signal Orange. It’s the only way to make such a tiny car visible to the behemoths nowadays on the road.
Wise choice on the color considering not only the behemoth vehicles but also the poorly trained and inexperienced individuals driving them!

Well that’s about it right now ,willing to meet and talk Porsche anytime. Have a great day. Thanks for letting me join.
Hi Russ!
Welcome to Carpokes - we're happy you found us and joined. Lots of great people sharing their ideas and experiences. Some incredibly talented people here too - I am always learning something new.
Your 911's are fantastic looking cars! Nice!
I love the color of your '74 and was going to suggest you post a pic on Rennbow but voilà, it's already there!! It's the first car listed under Sahara Beige - the main color page image - congrats on that!
Sahara Beige has just enough yellow to make it one of the nicest colors in my opinion, most definitely so within the Beige/Yellow family. Beautiful!
For others who read this post, check out Russ's car on Rennbow. (Rennbow is awesome.)

Hi Dennis V and welcome to Carpokes. I envy where you live as you can drive your cars all year. I put my two sporty cars in storage for the winter (2004 996 Coupe and a 2012 Audi TTs). However, I have already made arrangements for the insurance to take effect on April 1st so I expect to be on the road with them on the 2nd or 3rd of April. I am looking forward to a fun summer. By the way, the roads here in Toronto ON are in pretty bad shape, so not good for cars with stiff suspensions, also the traffic is unreal so when I take the 996 out, the answer is to get out of the city.
Enjoy the upcoming season with your cars.
Michael Savoie

Hi Peter - welocme to Carpokes! Thank you for joining up - the honor is ours that you've decided to join the group. You mention a couple of super fine cars in your post so, as Larry mentioned, please post pictures. The forum is quite picture friendly - no need to hold back!
There are lots of interesting topics scattered about the sub-forums, many how-to's and other experiential types of comments that may come in handy for you. Also, there's fun and historical stuff too - even a Pet thread for the animal lovers in the group!
Enjoy!

Current fun cars: '57 VW Beetle, '04 VW R32, '21 Cayman GTS 4.0
Occupation: EE working in the Telecommunication industry
First Porsche: 21 Cayman GTS 4.0
Grew up in a VW family, dad owned a VW repair shop and old VWs were always around. As they say VW guys all want to be Porsche guys

I have wanted to buy a Porsche for quite a while, but this is the one I bought.
First thing I did was take it to get the paint, plastics and wheels ceramic coated.
I bought the Cayman less than three weeks ago, CPO from a local dealer. I have a track day this coming weekend!
Currently working on learning as much as I can about these cars, I found this forum from the JetFuelOnly Youtube channel.

Hi Jeremy,
Welcome to Carpokes and thanks for posting the car photos! I have a 2022 CGTS 4.0. It’s also my first Porsche. I think we both picked winners.
Best,
Larry
