First Porsche: 21 Cayman GTS 4.0

Grew up in a VW family, dad owned a VW repair shop and old VWs were always around. As they say VW guys all want to be Porsche guys I have wanted to buy a Porsche for quite a while, but this is the one I bought.

I bought the Cayman less than three weeks ago, CPO from a local dealer. I have a track day this coming weekend!

Currently working on learning as much as I can about these cars, I found this forum from the JetFuelOnly Youtube channel.

Hi Jeremy - welcome to Carpokes and to the Porsche side of the VW-Porsche family! We're glad to have you here - thanks for joining!

I have no doubts you'll love the CGTS - they're just a ton of fun to drive as I imagine you already know and are superb handling cars as you'll discover even more once you get the car on track. However, Cayman/Boxsters are big grin producers no matter where they're driven!

Glad you found Danial at JetFuelOnly - he's made many excellent videos and has useful info that will enhance your experience. I think you'll find the same to be true at Carpokes, as there are many here willing to share experiences and how-to's, so join in. In case you haven't been there yet, check out the Carpokes "718 Boxsters and Caymans" sub forum.

That Shelby was my previous fun toy, my Cayman is my current fun toy.

Is your Cayman GT Silver? If so, that’s the same color as mine.

That it is sir. Rumor has it that it’s the fastest color with the coolest drivers…..ya know…from what I have heard.

Regarding cars and marque changes, I switched from countless years of Corvettes to Porsche and have never looked back. (Still like Corvettes - especially the C2's, C5's and C6's but they just don't measure up to my Porcheeees!)

As for GT Silver being the fastest color, well, it was until I put an additive in Porsche's factory paint, effectively slowing GT Silver down a bit. However, that was after the 2017 model year so you're good to go!
