There are a few obsolete chips, but I've managed to source a lifetime supply. The seller would only sell me his entire lot, which cost very little, so I figured why not. Other than that, I imagine everything is still available. I posted a partial schematic somewhere (maybe above in this thread), and somewhere I got another, but haven't posted since it's not mine. I'm a hack, so can only get so far, but any good electronics tech should be able to diagnose as you say...


Edit: any good electronics tech from back in the day, I should say. It's a dying art -- no one seems to fix anything anymore.

So I ordered one from eBay that supposedly only has the defrost switch not working. Honestly if that’s true I can live without that switch versus having functional defrost/footwell sliders and temp dial. Should be here in a few days so we’ll see. One defrost switch on mine is functional but doesn’t stay set so probably not worth the effort to move it over.
