I installed the screen protector after inspiration from this thread, I would have never considered this otherwise. I don't use screen protectors on my phone, heck I don't even use cases on my my phones. Protection is not at the top of my mind.

I have to say the screen seems brighter and more clear, vivid. The touch and near touch work just as well, the near touch may work better now. I will keep playing with it but so far it is better than expected.

@JodehFoster I have been looking at those gas gaps for quite some time now. How does it feel in the hand? Is it real aluminum or some of the plastic aluminum like the entry and drive fob?

My thoughts exactly! It makes the screen so much mor vivid. Glad it worked out for you

As Larry mentioned, they are plastic but they still look great! I too prefer real metal but Porsche is obsessed with weight reduction (along with costs...lol), so they figure anything that doesn't need to be some kind of metal won't be.

When Porsche makes the hood crest on GT4 RS cars a decal rather than a real badge and says it's for "weight savings", one either must take Porsche's word at face value or figure they're being cheap. (Or, to be kind to Porsche, "trimming costs". :D )

I ditched my shifter knob for this exact reason, did not want the main touch points to be plastic. I guess I don't get gas everyday...

Same here. I am attempting (over time) to replace as much plastic interior pieces with leather or Alcantara.
