I don't want any credit but I know I posted about these on Rennlist, the 718 Forum, etc. since these are too good to be a secret!

When do most people install the mounts on a new vehicle: at the dealership on initial pickup or back at home when more time and care can be taken. If not installed at vehicle pickup, where do you put the temporary tags on a Boxster (especially if driving 100 miles home with the top down)?

I was at the dealership when the truck arrived, so I installed mine before they even unwrapped the car. I didn't want to take a chance that they would drill my bumper
Adding a pic on the road. Yes, it's basically impossible to see that these are mounted. It just looks good and is a functional improvement over stock.

I think it varies by state. Some states have window stickers and others have a paper plate the dealers need to 'install' to drive off. (If so, ask them to tape it on with Scotch tape or painters tape.)
Put the mounts on at home if that's an option. With the 718 mounts, you need to line up the mount-holes over tiny little divots in the bumper for the plate holes to line up nicely. Stick them on as lightly as possible so you can line up the plate to make sure all the holes are all aligned -- once they are aligned, THEN press on firmly. Repositioning them is a pain once they are pressed all the way on.... Measure twice, cut once, etc.
If you have no choice and need to install them the dealer, it's no big deal -- no tools needed, etc. -- but it might be helpful to bring a wingman who can do it stress-free while you are in doing the paperwork. I've posted this before, but when I was in signing paperwork to pick up my 991,
@Crazy Eddie was out in the parking lot doing this to my car so it wouldn't get any chips on the way home before the PPF was installed.

Nice work! Honestly, that's the only 100% sure way to save your car from this guy.....

My wife installed the mounts and guarded the car while I signed the paperwork. Can you hire a car body guard?

Thanks for the kind words!! That has to be my favorite picture yet of the 718 mounts.

I've been meaning to update the installation instructions. Mind if I use that picture? There's a carpokes baseball cap in it for you, and some stickers....
