Last Saturday I was driving out of town to visit my sister, the low coolant light came on. Hmm, okay. Stop, have a look and water seems to be leaking from all over the front. Get a gallon of distilled water, it takes the entire gallon and is still leaking. Get another gallon of distilled water, it takes another half gallon.
At this point I am not sure where it is leaking from, it is under warranty, I am 25 minutes from a Porsche dealer and they are open. What they heck, I shoot over there. Maybe it is a broken fitting or loose hose that the warranty will fix...
They put it up on the lift and from that vantage point it is clear I got hit with some road debris and now have a punctured radiator.
As it bled in the service line, oops
On the lift, such a perfect stream

That must have been quite a hit to puncture the radiator like that Jeremy. It looks like a pretty small hole from the size of the stream. I enlarged your picture and even the space between the spread vanes is small. For something that small to do that kind of damage implies that it had some serious velocity. Maybe a bolt or similar?

I agree with your assessment, must have been something small and sharp. No idea though as I did not find anything or hear anything. Oh well, what can you do...
Might add a radiator repair epoxy to the kit with the tire plugs.

Very good Jeremy!
We have a new fellow racer on board here - WillyDaP. He has a new 718 GTS arriving soon. He's been on track forever! He's got some posts in the Racing forum and elsewhere so look him up.

My Chalk Cayman GTS is not even here, but after seeing the cool " Mode Dial " Tom the Site Administrator is selling , I plopped down $49 Buckaroos ( sounds appropriate for Carpoke words ) and it will be my " First " mod!! I guess I can chalk that mod up to good info on this Forum - pun intended!
Hope to post pics later this month or next , but I was in the automotive business for years and I understand how estimated dates cab vary.

I am biased but the drive mode cover is my favorite interior mod. It adds the perfect amount of understated bling and looks 100% like an OEM option. I have several colors and change them when the mood strikes. I usually use my chalk one because it matches my deviated stitching.
I have a 2022 718 GTS. You’ll love the car.
Best,
Larry

Well, dang Larry , now you have me second guessing myself since I have a Chalk Cayman coming and I got a red mode control cover. Stop telling me how much you like the cover in Chalk , the next thing I know I will be ordering another and I don't even have a car yet, ha! Thanks for the recommendation, especially coming from another CGTS owner -- well , I will be soon!

I hope to see one of these covers in person. I would think it might look good to match the starter switch from the Porsche Entry & Drive, keep a theme.
