Back in the game Patrick, good to hear!

These things surely do get under the skin.

I'm not sure the weight difference is huge 968 vs S2 in reality vs forum views.

Be interesting to know how much yours weighs.

At these levels and given what you just spent on a crank to avoid issues.....Carrillo.

Who will build the engine?

Thanks Nick. I think we'll build it in house but that is yet to be finally determined. Good idea to weigh it too. Must remember to do that. We will send the crank, rods and whatever else they want to balance them.

I always used Carrillo rods, you can't go wrong with them.
They are our first choice. Just seeing what others might have used and had good experience with. But yes, probably stay with Carrillos.

My Molnars were nice but I can't give you any feedback on durability yet as this variocam issue is stopping me from running full boost still.

There was very little balancing required between my Mahle pistons, Molnar rods and S2 crank so theyre good in that regard.

Thanks Tom. I'm both happy and dumbfounded that I'm back at this stage, but the show must go on!

I'm just trying to figure out how long to have the new rods made. I suspect we could go from the stock 3lt setup and then determine what the centre of the pin heights are on both stock and the existing CP pistons and calculate from the difference. As neither piston is domed then I assume the top of piston is at deck height and therefore the c/r is whatever the bowl is. Am I about right here?
